GROWTH
The class BUS306 has been the most enriched class for me, so far. I remember my HUMA class (Humanities) at Monterey Peninsula College, which made me face the reality of a human race since the beginning of the times. That class was very touching for me, I grown a lot as a human being, but this class has made me continually growing in several directions through the varied assignments, projects, and readings that the educational program of this class requires. I have been growing as a human being, as a potential marketer, as a business person, as a responsible citizen, and in personal values.
I discovered myself developing my teamwork skills more deeply. Through the realization of the marketing plan, I learned from my
classmates about their different study habits and strategies, as well from their different characters and attitudes. I, definitively, grew through them. Also, while doing personal assignment three, I taught deeply about multinational companies trying to expand its products into poor economies. It made me think about that people and how lucky we are living in America. This made me face how unfair and unethical some companies can be in order to gain power and money.
Also, I faced being in the position of a marketer through the development of the marketing plan. This project made me visualize me as a potential marketer. Although my concentration is not marketing, I taught several times if I could change my concentration to marketing instead of accounting. It was because of the interesting things we did through the marketing plan. We faced the excitement, but difficult stage, of taking decisions in order to benefit our customers and ourselves as potential marketers. We learned a lot about our target market, and the different steps to introduce a new product into the market.
Although my concentration is not marketing, as I said above, my major is business administration. So, I consider that this class made me grow as a business person. This class made me think about business ethics, which I was reinforcing as well in my ethics class. Definitively, the knowledge acquired through BUS306 will help me in the future when I needed to take some business decisions. Also, I began to see advertisement more carefully; so I can say BUS306 has contributed to change my mind as a customer as well.
Through my personal assignment three, I learned about companies such as Pampers, which uses touching advertising among mothers in poor countries so that its products are positioned easily. I grew as a responsible citizen because I understand now that companies made unethical decisions to gain social and economical power. I have now a better sense about how companies can damage our environment, and I gained the social responsibility of investigating a company before consuming its products. So, with that knowledge, now I can support, responsibly, companies, which protect our environment and treat human resources with respect.
In addition, every single project, assignment, reading, comment at lecture or in forum helped me to grow my personal values. I feel I am a better and responsible person with this class, which required responsibility, organization, a wisely use of time, passion for business, good teamwork skills, as well as communication skills. Those talents or abilities will be a great help when I form part of the workforce.
