Human needs are not such as complicated as we can think. According to Kotler, P. "Needs are states of felt deprivation" (p.6). It means that human needs relies on the necessity of food, water, clothing, shelter, affection, freedom of speech, being accepted in society, education, and safety.
As a result, marketing exists, basically, in order to satisfy all human needs. My team # 7 and I are conducted a marketing plan of a new product based in generation Y's needs, for instance. Please, see the project summary for more information.
So, why does marketing seem very complicated?
The answer relies in human wants and natural resources, such as land, trees, oil, because the customers' wants are unlimited, while the natural resources are limited.
See the follow Maslow's herarchy of needs pyramid to reinforce the human needs concept.
